Last updated: 20 October 2026

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") set the rules for visiting and using our website. Please read them carefully before you continue.

The Company is incorporated in British Columbia, Canada, under registration number BC1582665, and its registered office is at 5307 Victoria Drive #1277, Vancouver BC V5P 3V6, Canada.

Lumen Payments is registered with FINTRAC as a Money Services Business under MSB registration number N300001690. Lumen Payments is not a bank. FINTRAC registration is not a licence, is not prudential supervision and does not mean endorsement by FINTRAC or the Government of Canada.

2. Your Acceptance

When you access, browse or use the Website in any way, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms and that you accept them in full as legally binding. If you use the Website for an organization, you also confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for it. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, please stop using the Website and its features straight away.

3. Scope of These Terms

These Terms cover only your access to and use of the Website. Money transfer, foreign exchange and payment services provided by Lumen Payments are governed by separate client agreements, by our onboarding documentation and by the regulatory requirements that apply to us. These Terms do not make you a client and do not require the Company to provide you with any financial service.

Two other documents form part of these Terms: our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information obtained through the Website, and our Cookie Policy, which describes the cookies we use.

We may change, add to or replace these Terms at any time. A revised version takes effect once it is published on this page with a new "last updated" date. If you keep using the Website after that date, you accept the revised Terms, so we suggest checking this page from time to time.

5. Information on the Website

Everything on the Website is general information. It is not legal, tax, financial or other professional advice and should not be treated as such. If you rely on any of it, you do so at your own risk. We work to keep the content accurate and current, but we cannot promise that it is complete, up to date or free of errors, and we may change or withdraw content without notice.

No content on the Website is an offer, a solicitation or a recommendation to use a financial service, to establish a client relationship or to carry out a transaction. Our services are available only to corporate clients that have been verified through our compliance onboarding process.

6. Personal Information

LUMEN PAYMENTS LIMITED collects, stores and processes any personal information you provide through the Website, including through the contact form, in line with applicable privacy and data protection law, including PIPEDA and, where relevant, the PCMLTFA. Our Privacy Policy sets out in detail how we collect, use, disclose and retain that information.

7. Intellectual Property

The Website and everything made available through it, including its content, design, layout, software, databases, text, graphics, images, audio and video, logos, trade names, trademarks and service marks, are owned by LUMEN PAYMENTS LIMITED or used by it under licence. They are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws in Canada and elsewhere.

We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence, which we may revoke, to access and view the Website and its content for lawful business purposes. Without our prior written consent, you may not copy, reproduce, republish, modify, distribute or sell any part of the Website, or create derivative works from it.

8. Eligibility and Restricted Jurisdictions

You may use the Website only where doing so is lawful. Access is prohibited for any person or entity that is located, incorporated or ordinarily resident in, or otherwise connected with, a country or territory under comprehensive sanctions or trade restrictions imposed by Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom or the European Union.

Lumen Payments does not serve persons or entities located or incorporated in, or otherwise connected with, Afghanistan, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, Myanmar, North Korea, Russia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Yemen or the territories of Ukraine currently occupied by Russia. This list matches the Compliance page and section 7 of our KYC Policy and may change as sanctions and our risk assessments evolve. It is your responsibility to make sure that your use of the Website complies with the laws that apply to you.

9. Acceptable Use

You must not use the Website in a way that could damage, disable, overload or impair it, or that interferes with anyone else's use of it. For example, you must not:

  • introduce viruses, malware or any other harmful code;
  • try to gain unauthorized access to the Website, its servers or any connected system;
  • launch denial-of-service attacks;
  • scrape or harvest data using automated tools;
  • use the Website for any unlawful, fraudulent or misleading purpose.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Your use of the Website is entirely at your own risk. We provide the Website "as is" and "as available", without any warranty. As far as the law allows, the Company disclaims every express and implied warranty, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Links to third-party websites are included only for convenience. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content or practices.

The Website is free to use. To the greatest extent permitted by applicable law, the Company's total liability arising from or connected with your use of the Website is limited to CAD 100. The Company is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost data or lost business opportunities. Liability relating to payment, foreign exchange or other services provided to a client is governed solely by that client's separate agreement with the Company, and these Terms neither limit nor extend it.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and defend LUMEN PAYMENTS LIMITED and its directors, officers, employees and agents, and to hold them harmless, against all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) that result from your use of the Website, from your breach of these Terms or from any unauthorized use of credentials linked to you.

12. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Website whenever you like, and your acceptance of these Terms then ends for the future. The Company may suspend, limit or end your access to the Website, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice, if it reasonably believes that you have breached these Terms, that your use creates a legal, security or compliance risk, or that the law requires it to do so. The provisions on intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnification and governing law continue to apply after termination.

13. Governing Law, Disputes and Contact

These Terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. You agree that the courts located in Vancouver, British Columbia, have exclusive jurisdiction. If a court finds any provision of these Terms unenforceable, the other provisions remain fully in force.

Questions, legal notices and complaints about these Terms should be sent to legal@lumenpayments.io with the subject line "Website Terms of Use", or by post to LUMEN PAYMENTS LIMITED, 5307 Victoria Drive #1277, Vancouver BC V5P 3V6, Canada. We aim to acknowledge each complaint within five business days. For general questions, please use info@lumenpayments.io or our Contact page.
